We're delighted to send you news of a concert featuring violinist Hae-Sun Kang (Ensemble Intercontemporain / IRCAM) and Turkish pianist Seda Röder.

The programme is as follows (running order TBC);

  • Hae-Sun Kang (violin), performs Pierre Boulez' 'Anthèmes II' with Arshia Cont (live electronics)
  • Seda Röder (piano / live electronics), performs new works for piano and electronics

Before the concert at 6pm, IRCAM's Arshia Cont, a specialist in software design for the performance of real-time interactions between performer, score and computer, will talk on the subject of Human-machine Interaction.

This concert forms part of the first symposium in a series intended to stimulate Franco-Scottish collaboration in science, to present new scientific ideas and their social and commercial implications to the public, and to increase awareness of French and Scottish science in each other’s country.

Presented by the Royal Society of Edinburgh and the Collège de France, supported by the French Embassy, l'Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et Automatique (INRIA), and the Scottish Informatics and Computer Science Alliance.
